Le commencement
" J'ai commencé à écrire pour le projet vers Mars / Avril 2010, en compagnie de Dreamtrak. De cette première collaboration, sont nés un paquet de morceaux, comme Freestyle. D'autres producteurs ont eu vent de ces premières ébauches, puis j'ai passé le reste de mon année, enfermée dans un studio, afin d'écrire, de peaufiner et élaborer un ensemble concret et cohérent. Les teasers de Freestyle & Where Are You Now ont très vite suivi. "

" J'ai fait une liste des personnes avec qui j'avais toujours eu cette envie de collaborer. Elle comprenait d'illustres inconnus ainsi que d'autres producteurs de la scène electronique à la renommée indiscutable. Aujourd'hui, je travaille aussi avec de talentueuses personnes, auxquelles je n'aurais jamais pensé auparavant. Et qui n'étaient pas sur la liste.
Je réalise à quel point je suis chanceuse, et les réseaux sociaux, Twitter & Facebook ont joué un grand rôle : de nos jours, il est aisé d'entrer en contact avec les artistes et les producteurs. C'est ainsi que j'ai fait la connaissance de The Sound of Arrows et Fabien Waltmann. Il faut bien reconnaître qu'Internet fait de belles choses, parfois. "

The Arrival EP
" The Arrival EP est comme une petite introduction, une carte postale, un morceau de l'univers artistique Queen Of Hearts ♥. Un aperçu. C'est une sorte de mixture, de rencontres de différents genres musicaux. Il traite bien évidemment de l'Amour, des sentiments qui l'accompagnent. Aimer, ne plus aimer. Être aimer, ne plus être aimer. "

" On y retrouvera Freestyle, ainsi que Where Are You Now et ma ré-interprétation du Spanish Sahara des Foals. Il y aura aussi le titre Black Star produit par Devils Gun et un autre titre Shoot The Bullet, écrit par The Sound of Arrows. J'aime beaucoup les titres de cet EP. "

" Je suis une grande admiratrice de Marina and The Diamonds. Fear & Loathing m'a donné la chair de poule. J'ai trouvé cela magnifique. Et la vidéo de Radioactive est fabuleuse. J'imagine à quel point cela a dû être amusant de tronçonner un matelas, comme elle le fait ! Il est évident qu'il s'agit d'un tournant, d'une nouvelle direction pour elle, mais je reste impatiente de découvrir le reste du projet Electra Heart. J'ai toujours été amoureuse de I Am Not A Robot. Peut-être que j'en ferai une reprise, un jour. "

Le premier album
" J'écris, je compose constamment. Je donne le meilleur de moi-même pour proposer un premier opus respectable et respecté. Je suis une grade perfectionniste et je prends mon temps. Je ne me précipite pas, mais sachez que j'y suis presque ! Je puise mon inspiration dans la vie de tous les jours. Les autres m'inspirent, aussi : mes amis, ma famille... Les gens. J'aborde la question de l'Amour avec eux. Je trouve cela fascinant. "

" Mon iPod est plein à craquer. J'aime la Pop à tel point que, peu importe la décennie ou la mouvance actuelle, je ne peux qu'apprendre et m'améliorer.
Généralement, j'écoute beaucoup Goldfrapp, Michael Jackson, Cocknbullkid, Gwen Stefani, Empire of the Sun, Marina & The Diamonds, Hurts, Björk, Yelle, Little Boots, Frankmusik, Ke$ha, Robyn. Ils font tous d'incroyables choses pour la pop et m'inspire à tel point, que je repousse sans cesse mes limites. "

M : Hello Queen of Hearts ! Can you please explain to us how exactly did the QUEEN OF HEARTS ♥ PROJECT take place ?
Q.O.H. : I started writing with Dreamtak in March/April of last year and came up with Freestyle and a handful of other tracks. They came to the attention of a few other producers and then I spent the best part of a year just writing and getting the music together, before putting out teaser clips for both Freestyle and Where Are You Now? this year. The rest is unfolding..
M : You're working with the most talented producers & bands ( Monarchy, Diamond Cut, Bright Light Bright Light ). How did you get there ?
Q.O.H. : I made a list of all the people I ever wanted to work with from people that were fairly unknown, to massive producers, and I 'm slowly working my way through it. I've already ticked off a few I never thought I could actually work with, I feel very lucky.
With Twitter and Facebook, it's so much easier to speak to other artists and producers, it's how I met and got to work with The Sound of Arrows and Fabien Waltmann, you gotta love the internet for that.
M : Can you please enlighten us about your mostly-anticipated ARRIVAL EP ? Even if I can easily guess that LOVE is the main theme, right ?
Q.O.H. : "The Arrival" is a little postcard into the Queen of Hearts world. It's got a mixture of tracks for different moods and covers having and losing love, along with a few other feelings along the way.
M : Which famous tracks can we find on the ARRIVAL EP ? Freestyle ? Where Are You Now ? Or maybe OVERCOME BY RYTHM ( I can't stop singing the chorus ) ?
Q.O.H. : It's got Freestyle and Where Are You Now?, as well as my cover of Spanish Sahara by the Foals.
There's also a track called Black Star produced by Devils Gun and another track called "Shoot the Bullet" written with The Sound of Arrows. I hope it ticks all the boxes, I love all the tracks.
M : Your ARRIVAL EP will be released on October 3rd. Same released date for the RADIOACTIVE EP of Marina & the Diamonds. What do you think of the ELECTRA HEART COMPLEX, with the 2 new tracks FEAR & LOATHING + RADIOACTIVE ? Have you ever thought of making a remix of one of her songs ? Your " DAFT PUNK version " is really quite interesting !
Q.O.H. : I'm a big Marina fan and had goosebumps the first time I heard Fear and Loathing, it's really beautiful. The video for Radioactive is brilliant, I imagine it was a lot of fun cutting up a matress with a chainsaw! It's a really new direction for her, and I'm excited to hear the rest. I've always loved "I Am Not A Robot" maybe I'll cover that one day.
M : Did you start working on your first album ? Can you talk about it a little bit ? Please tell us why LOVE is such an inspiration to you ?
Q.O.H. : I'm constantly writing as I want to make the best album I possible can. I'm a perfectionist and have to take my time, but I'm almost there. I take inspiration from my life and of those around me; friends and family. We talk about having love, losing love, wanting love, I find it fascinating.
M : If we take a look at your iPod, what can we find ? Who's inspirational ?
Q.O.H. : My ipod is full to the brim. I love synth pop, both old and new and have music from the 80s,90s and now, I learn a little bit from each decade.
Generally, I listen to a lot of Goldfrapp, Michael Jackson, Cocknbullkid, Gwen Stefani, Kesha, Empire of the Sun, Marina and the Diamonds, Hurts, Bjork, Frankmusik, Little Boots, Yelle and Robyn. They all make amazing pop music and inspire me to write and push boundaries.
